DIFFERENT ISRAEL- DIFFERENT HOUSE

DIFFERENT ISRAEL- DIFFERENT HOUSE

Gal 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

Hos 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

Mat 2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

1Pe 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 11 speaks of the redemption. The purchasing of a people to Himself, the right of the Kinsman Redeemer. In this prophetic declaration, Isaiah says:

“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod. And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt”.

A rod out of a stem…a branch out of a root. A declaration worthy of contemplation. A tree hewed down shall sprout a branch. A branch growing out of the root. A root is a source of supply to a tree. It gathers nutrients and conveys them via sap. Clearly, the Spirit of the Lord is the “Root” of which this Branch shall grow….”And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him”. In Christ Jesus, post resurrection, do the faithful drink of the supply of the one in whom all the supply dwelt:

“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning”.

The Spirit of the Lord of whom Isaiah spoke, Jesus also is speaking. And in his declaration, Isaiah hearkens to the events of Jesse’s life. Jesse is the son of Obed. Obed is the son of Ruth by Boaz. When reading the account in the book of Ruth, you will find the principal of the Kinsman Redeemer at work. It was often referred to as “Raising the name of the dead upon his inheritance”. Naomi’s two sons died, leaving her without a namesake. Her daughter in law, Ruth, would not leave her, but eventually returns with her to Ephratah (Bethlehem), where Boaz becomes Ruth’s husband and Naomi’s Kinsman Redeemer, buying and restoring to Naomi, all that was lost to her when her two sons died. Referencing the marriage of Boaz to Ruth, the people of Bethlehem (Ephratah) declared:

“We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give thee of this young woman”.

When Ruth conceived and gave birth to Obed, the people declared a thing:

“And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed…”

Notice that it was recognized a son was born to Naomi by Ruth. This is just as Seth, the man of figurative resurrection was given to Eve to take the place of Abel, whom Cain slew, which if reading, you find the generations of Adam go on to be declared in Seth. No further mention of Cain is made in Adam.

Perhaps of greatest note in Isaiah’s declaration is that this branch who sprang from Jesse’s root will build a house, but not build again, the house to which he formerly belonged. For of this one to be born in Bethlehem, did the people bless and prophesy, calling his house LIKE the house which Rachel and Leah built, but not the same house. If Christ , in resurrection , sits at the right hand of the Father, and David calls Him Lord, how is He David’s son? and therefore, how is His house David’s house?

The one of whom we speak is Christ Jesus, filled with the Spirit of God, made our Kinsman Redeemer by His death (paying all debt), and Himself raised by the same Spirit, which Spirit by which we are quickened and built up the very house of which the people of Bethlehem spoke those many years ago. The Israel of God is Christ. The house of His resurrection is a spiritual house. The same Spirit which raised Him (and us with Him) from the dead (if so be that Spirit dwell in you), makes us the house of the Lord. Not any restoration of any former house, but a house LIKE the former houses, which were types and shadows of things to come.

This Spirit of Christ in us, is the treasure in the earthen vessel. And while in the vessel, we, being lead of the Spirit, make our exodus, from the clay to the treasure.

That is the message of Isaiah 11. The glorious highway is LIKE it was to Israel when he came up out of Egypt. The highway is the Spirit of Christ in you.

All remnant of the Lords people, scattered abroad over the earth, have one road of redemption. It does not lie back to their origins and distinctions of flesh. It lies in Christ. As declared:

Rev 5:9 “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth”.
